Home Decoration has a History

In ancient times, home decoration was not of top priority to women. One of the major reasons was the absence of factories to produce the materials for such an endeavour. Due to this, women gathered together to form circles, like sewing circles. In such circles, they created different home accessories such as quilts, table covers, dollies, etc. However, this took them a lot of time. These handmade crafts were made of very good quality. In order to make maximum use of them, mothers passed them down to their children.
In the area of furniture, wood was not used plainly as it is used now. That time, wood was carved into unique designs that were durable. Durability was more important to them than beauty. Furniture such as tables, stools, chairs, wall mirrors, etc.
Taking care of the home was of top priority to women. Therefore, they did not bother about decorating their homes. They made their homes bare and easy to maintain. There was also an absence of machines like dishwashers, washing machines, cake mixers, etc; they had to do everything from the scratch.
Later, people began to expose themselves to other cultures. This influence tilted them towards the decoration of their homes, but this time, with a blend of various ideas to come out with outstanding results.
